2025年8月、北野天満宮にて伝統の「御手洗祭（みたらしさい）」が開催されます。

8月7日（木）10:00から、菅原道真公の遺愛とされる松風の硯や梶の葉、季節の野菜、御手洗団子などが神前にお供えされる神聖な儀式です。

さらに境内の御手洗川では、8月2日〜17日の期間、「御手洗川足つけ燈明神事」が行われ、清水に足を浸し、五色のろうそくに願いを込めて灯します（受付は9:00〜20:00、最終受付19:40、初穂料500円）。夜間のライトアップもあり、夏の夜ならではの幻想美が広がります。

また、8月8日〜11日には国宝・本殿の「石の間」特別公開（拝観料1,000円）や、北野夏祭り（だんご茶屋や太鼓・篠笛の奉納演奏あり）も同時開催され、にぎやかな雰囲気です。

西陣の当ゲストハウスからは北野天満宮まで徒歩圏内。祭り見物の後は、ぜひ当館でゆったりとしたひとときをお過ごしください。

In August 2025, the revered Mitarashi Festival will be held at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.

On Thursday, August 7th from 10:00 AM, a sacred ceremony will take place offering items such as the beloved “Matsukaze no Suzuri” (brush-watering stone inkstone), sasa-leaf (traditionally used in place of Tanzaku), seasonal vegetables, and Mitarashi dango in front of the deity.

Additionally, from August 2nd to 17th, the Mitarashi-gawa Foot-Washing & Candle-Lighting Ritual will be held. Participants wade into the clear shrine stream, choose one of five colored candles—each granting different blessings—and light it with personal intentions (9:00 AM–8:00 PM, last entry at 7:40 PM, participation fee: 500 yen). Nighttime lighting makes for a magical, atmospheric experience.

Furthermore, from August 8th–11th, the national treasure “Ishi-no-Ma” (“Stone Room”) of the main hall is open for special viewing (entrance fee: 1,000 yen), while the lively summer festival includes food stalls, Mitarashi dango tea booth, and live performances of taiko drums and shinobue flute.
